I Have a Dream 读后感

I Have a Dream

On August 23, 1963, Martin Luther King organizes the influential "free foray into" campaign in American history. In order to oppose the racial discrimination and struggle for freedom, and the right of equality, he has published a famous speech "I have a dream" to 250000 people in the Lincoln memorial. Martin Luther King was a good speaker and the most outstanding fighter in my mind. His speech "I have a dream" is one of the most perfect speak in my mind.

In his speech: First of all, the author talked about the sensitive civil rights problem; Then, The authors describe the realities situation where black people were not free, discrimination and not equal treatment; Finally, the author positive express black people's dream: freedom and equality. I was deeply attracted and moved. His sincere dream as follows:

Even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."

With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

Martin Luther King's dream should not be just black American dream, and should be the world people dream.

Unfortunately, on April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King was assassinated. But the spirits of Martin Luther King to every American, even the people of the world, has profound and significant influence.

Today, the United States has realized the black and white equality, democracy and freedom. On the one hand, it has a significant contact with Martin Luther King. On the other hand, Martin Luther King's speech won a success. Abraham Lincoln once said: don't always want what country can do for you, you should consider for your country to do anything.” The reason why Martin Luther King can be treat "suffer" for "salvation", and to allow himself to shed their blood. He said: "to fight for freedom, we may be bleeding, and the blood must be our blood......

Martin Luther King's speech left a deep impression on me. From Martin Luther King speech, I get a lot of enlightenment as follows:

To begin with, it is most important to establish a high lofty ideal. In this competitive society, everyone wants to live better, everyone wants to have a decent life. For example: Someone may want to be rich, someone may want to be beautiful, and someone may want to have power and so on. Although these are not the thick, but we should set up a lofty ideal. So we will constantly continue efforts. We want to do meaningful something for our society, so that we will make greater achievement. The poet quicksand river once said: "ideal is stone, knock out a spark; ideal is fire, lit out of the lamp; ideal is a lamp, light the way and ideal is driving road, lead you toward the dawn." If you lost ideal, life will lose luster, life will wither. If you have the ideal, life will be full of hope, life will flash.

Second, persistence and perseverance are very helpful to realize the dream. In the process of dream to be realized, we will be confronted with a lot of difficulties. For example, external pressure of competition, its own trouble and sorrow, and even natural disasters, they are likely to cause us to fail. But we can't give up, we will constantly efforts and insist on our own beliefs. A proverb says: failure is the mother of success. Study hard and make progress every day.” Martin Luther King's dream to become a reality, which is a most evident: the persistence is successful.

Finally, we should learn to appreciate and learn to sacrifice, help every people who need help. Newton said: “His success is standing on the shoulders of giants. No predecessor to constantly paid, and we did not have a happy life. So we should be grateful for our parents, teachers, and those who silently the devotees, because you make us a better life. Today's everything have been built by our parents' generation’s ideal dipped in blood; Tomorrow, we need more to create everything through our ideal with a sweat! In the past, the motherland stand up on many Chinese children's ideal and faith; In the future, the motherland will be more prosperous we continuous to create and continuous to make a progress.

As Martin Luther King hope that: “when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!
