Section A
1. —What does your friend look like?
—She is of medium build, and she has long hair.
What do / does + 主语 + look like? 用来询问某人的相貌，look like意为“看起来像”，look作系动词，意为“看上去”，like作介词，意为“像……”。
描述相貌通常有三个句型：1：主语 + be + 形容词 / 主语 + be + of +形容词 + 名词。用于描述某人的外形，即体形、身高、胖瘦等。2：主语 + have / has + 形容词 + 名词。用于描述某人的相貌特征，即具体的五官相貌等。3：主语 + wear(s) + glasses /
clothes。用于描述某人戴眼镜及所穿衣物等。
2. Xu Qian loves to tell jokes.
tell jokes意为“讲笑话”，有关joke的常用表达：make a joke about / of ...意为“拿……开玩笑”，介词about / of后面可以接人或物作宾语。如：
Don’t make a joke about me. 别拿我开玩笑！
He is always making jokes about others. 他总是拿别人开玩笑。
3. She never stops talking.
never意为“从不；永不”，本身具有否定意义，其反义词为always，ever。通常置于实义动词之前，be动词之后。如：
My father never gets up late on Sundays. 我爸爸周日从不晚起。
Linda is never late for school. 琳达上学从不迟到。
stop doing sth.意为“停止做某事”。而stop to do sth. 意为“停下来去做另一件事情”。如：
The boy soon stopped crying. 男孩很快就不再哭了。
You’d better stop to have a rest. 你最好停下来休息一会儿。

1. Do you remember Johnny Dean, the pop singer with funny glasses and long curly hair?
remember意为“记得；记着”。remember doing sth. 表示“记得做过某事”，而remember to do sth. 表示“记着要去做某事”。如：
—Remember to return the tennis racket to me. 记得把网球拍还给我。
—But I remember having returned it to you. 可是我记得已经还给你了。
2. I don’t think he’s so great.
主句含有think，believe等时，则从句中的否定习惯上要转移到主句中来，称为“否定转移”。如：
I don’t think she will come back this week. 我认为她这周不会回来。
She doesn’t believe it is true. 她认为那不是真的。
3. But my mom does.
do / does用作助动词，此处用来避免重复。如：
—May I come in? 我可以进来吗？
—Yes, please. 请进。
4. I can go shopping, and nobody knows me.
go shopping意为“购物”，也可以说do some shopping。如：
My mother often goes shopping / does some shopping on Sundays. 我妈妈经常星期日去购物。
nobody是不定代词，意为“无人；没有人”，肯定形式为somebody。
注意：不定代词作主语时，谓语动词用单数。如：
Everything goes well!万事如意！
Somebody is knocking at the door. 有人在敲门。
