第16届亚运会英文官方会刊asiaddaily(《亚运日报》)于9月13日正式出版，该报为全彩印刷，主要内容包括赛事报道、人物专访、读者来信、人文历史、实用信息及趣闻轶事等。

本周一，在距离广州亚运会开幕倒计时60天之际，广州2010年亚运会的英文官方会刊创刊号正式发行。
在上面的报道中，inaugural issue就是“创刊号”。这里的issue指“(报刊、杂志的)一期，期号”，除这里提到的inaugural issue以外，还有为某一事件发布的special issue(特刊)。inaugural在这里的意思是“首次的，创立的”，例如：the inaugural run of the new train(新型列车的首次行驶)。inaugural还可以表示“开幕的，成立的”或“就职的，就任的”，例如： the president gave an inaugural speech when he took office。(总统上任时发表就职演说。)
英文中有许多和“首次”有关的表达，如first-day cover(首日封)、maiden work(处女作)、initial public offering(首次公开发行股票)等等。
