Goodmorning/afternoon,ladiesandgentlemen,
It'smygreathonortostandhereandgiveaspeechthatteachingislearning.Iwouldliketoillustratemyopinionsfromthreeaspects,learningfromstudents,learningfromcolleagues,anddoinglifelongself-study.
我很荣幸能站在这里并发表演讲,我所演讲的题目是教即是学。我想从三个方面来阐述我的观点,即向学生学习,向同事学习以及终身学习。
Firstofall,asteachers,wearealsoinfluencedbyourstudentswhenteachorcommunicatewiththem.Ontheonehand,wehavetofindproperteachingmethodsbyresearching,analyzing,andstimulatingstudents'Englishlearninginterests.Duringthisprocess,teacherscontinuouslyadjustteachingskillsonthebasisofstudents'reactions.Ontheotherhand,teachingisanactivityofinteraction.AccordingtoaLatinAmericaeducator--FreirePaulo,hestateseducationshouldbeadialogicalprocess,inwhichtherelationshipbetweenstudentsandteachersisequalityandliberty,insteadofanunequalrelationshipwhichthespoon-feedingis.Hisbookstressesthatanidealeducationsystemisstudentandteacherlearningtogether,whichfollowsthestudents’centerededucation,ratherthanthespoon-feedingwhichisteacher-centered.Inthemeanwhile,it'salsocorrespondingtotheChinesenewcurriculumstandard.Weneedto
abandonthetraditionalteachingmethodswhichisoverstressinggrammarandvocabulary.Theteachingmethodofthespoon-feedingshouldbereplacedbydevelopingstudents'Englishlearninginterests.
首先,作为老师,在传授知识时或与学生交流时,我们不可避免地也会受到学生的影响。一方面,为了找到并采用适当的教学方法,我们不得不通过调查,分析和激发学生的兴趣来进行。在此过程中,老师会根据学生的反应而自发地、不断地调整自己的教学技巧。从另一方面来看,学习其实是个互动的过程。根据一位拉丁美洲著名教育家的观点,他指出,教育应该是一个对话的过程,其中师生之间的关系是平等、自由的,而不是填鸭式的不平等关系。在他的书中强调,最理想的教育体系是学生和教师共同学习,它遵循转型教育的发展,以替代传播式教育即填鸭式教育仅以老师为课堂的中心。同时教即学的理念,也与中国新的课程标准相对应,新课标要求我们摒弃过度强调语法和词汇的传统教学法,以通过培养学生的英语学习兴趣来代替单项灌输、传播式教育。
Secondly,Ibelievetwoheadsarebetterthanone.Drawingonthewisdomofpeerteacherscancontributetoourteaching.Colleagueswithdifferenteducationandlivingbackgroundsharetheirexperienceofsuccessesandproblemsintheteachingprofession.Thisprocesscanbeseenasalearningprocessthatweexchangevariousideasabouthowtohelpstudentstolearn,howtoteachdifferentEnglishlevelofstudents,what’skindofteachingskillswecoulduse.Usually,therearetwoways
